The theme of the symposium was “Multidisciplinary Approaches to AMR”, in which researchers, policymakers, ethicists, and clinicians were brought together to discuss the current challenges and opportunities facing AMR.

Ffion’s flash talk was titled “Modelling drug resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae in the gastrointestinal tract” in which she discussed her works evaluating the effects of antibiotics on the gut microbiome. Sara’s flask talk was titled “Quantitative evaluation of ultrasound-mediated antibiotic therapy in S. aureus and P. aeruginosa biofilms” in which she presented her work on using ultrasound as a “drug-free” antibiotic.
